Once you've used an aerator for reds you'll never be without one again. We use this one on the tower at home and have another (without tower) for traveling.

I tried the Vinturi on a bottle of red and was impressed with the results.It actually improved the flavor.Glad I bought it.

I am in no way a wine snob. But, the GF loves to consume wine. I may have a glass a week, she's closer to one a night. So, the idea of decanting a whole bottle to allow it to breathe before serving makes sense, but you kinda have to drink the whole bottle that night. When you're entertaining, no problem. But, if you just want to pour a glass for yourself, it's really hard to commit to decanting a whole bottle. So, I bought the kit (with the electronic wine opener, which is great fun). Now, it is a two handed operation. You have to hold the aerator in one hand, bottle in the other, glass on the table. If you don't pour fast enough, the air doesn't get sucked in through the side holes. If you pour too fast, you run the risk of overflowing. But, to be honest, it's pretty simple and you get the hang of how fast to pour and you can hear the sucking sound (which sounds odd, but it's a clear sign of air being infused with the wine). So, that's as tricky as it gets. Oh, and with whatever hand you're holding the aerator make sure you fingers don't cover the holes on the side, where the air gets sucked in. That's it...those are all the tips you need. The red wine aerator has a screen for particles. The white wine one doesn't. The kit comes with a cute travel bag, etc. and the stands are easy/convenient. But, now the subjective part. Does it affect taste? Of course it does. I did a lot of blind comparisons with friends and with the GF. Which is also a good excuse to have people over to drink. And I've served aerated and non-aerated, the same bottle, and people think it's two different wines, every time. Most prefer the aerated version of the same wine. It can make a $7 bottle wine that much smoother. Does it make it a $200 bottle of wine? Heck if I know, I don't buy $200 bottles of wine. The most expensive I get is $30, tops. Like any good wino, I have my favorite types of wine at all price points. So, it makes the wines I like, taste better, for sure. It can make a good wine a little bit better. Similar to how a great wine benefits from being decanted. So, it is a palpable difference, usually for the better. And, without the commitment of an entire bottle. I can aerate one glass at a time and feel no pressure to finish the bottle that night. In short, I was pleasantly surprised. It's a simple thing and it does "force" a wine to breathe for immediate, glass by glass, consumption.

Indroduction of air into the wine as it is poured through the Vinturi wine aerator softens the wine and lessens the time to allow the bouquet to develop. Plus its fun.

I have turned on my in-laws and their circle of friends to these aerators. The wine has to be tasted to believe how much the flavor is enhanced by pouring it through these aerators. Even budget wine tastes great if poured through these. My wife and I ordered a pair for white and red. After my in-laws tasted the results they wanted a pair. When their friends experienced the taste improvement they wanted some. So we have purchased at least four sets so far for them and their friends. Most recently we ordered two aerator towers to make pouring easier. The only drawback with this is the distance from the bottom of the aerator to the wine glass is a little too large a distance. It can allow for splashing. So my Father-in-law and I made a spacer out of wine corks to put under the aerator. This raises the wine glass to just below the aerator and minimizes splashing. For now we just have a rubber band holding about 7 wine corks together. It looks kind of like a piling on a pier. I may get some small gauge rope and wrap it around the corks to further simulate the pier look.

I was very skeptical about the effect the Venturi would have, mainly because I'm a white wine drinker. Yet I can honestly say I was happily surprised at the flavor difference in using the aerator. I opened a new bottle of 2008 Sauvignon Blanc, pouring some into my wine glass right from the bottle. Then I poured some into another wine glass using the Venturi. There was a distinct difference in the depth and flavor of the wine. I bought the pair of aerators offered by Amazon, one for white and one for red wines, as a Valentines Day gift. What a GREAT purchase this has turned out to be!!

My yard has many, many weeds. Pulling them by had was getting to be too much. This product certainly made it easier. I don't know if I'm using it exactly right, I only seem to get the root about half the time. Still, this saves me a lot of bending over. It's made of steel, and seems extremely durable. It does leave holes in your yard, but I'll just count that as aeration. Overall, pretty good product.

The "Weed Hound" is one of the most important tools that I have now. No longer do I have to bend over, or, mess with moving a nuisance knee pad around to do my weeding, and, I don't dread pulling weeds anymore; the "Hound Dog" does all the work for me. All I do is aim it at the center of the weed, step on the metal peg & it does the rest; pulls up the whole weed, root and all. It's durable and so easy to operate. Thank you Hound Dog for an incredibly simple, yet, ingenious tool that has taken the dredge out of weed pulling and has put the joy back into yard work. Tip: For multiple weeds in one area in soft ground, push the "Weed Hound" into the center of the weed by hand and discard them into a pile near you; it's faster than releasing each weed into a bucket.

you get what you paid for with this. Only doesn't work well on very hard,rocky dirt. Great for dandelion and witch grass. No bending, and weeds just pop off the shaft with a wack from the palm of you hand. Love it.

I purchased the "Weed Hound" for my son after hearing stories of his back breaking removal of weeds. he was sceptical when I first told him abound the "Weed Hound". However, it is currently his favorite garden tool.

The weed hound eliminates all bending over or getting on my knees to pull weeds....I saw one being used and decided to buy one and I am very pleased with the product..

these things were horrible! I get my right foot in, tighten it, take one step, snap! the belt breaks. Then I rig it with some cable to get it to stay on. Start walking around and these things start ripping up the ground and my feet get really heavy. Maybe it was too wet, but this was terrible. Tried to walk for about five minutes before I started cursing and yelling, and then ripped them off my feet and straight in the garbage. throwing them away was a great feeling!

I purchased this item because I thought it would be better than making something similar myself...why not let someone else to do right. Well, I did like the plastic shoe design, though I've only used it once...what I didn't like is the cheap plastic buckles. In fact I broke two of them simply cinching them up around my boots and I didn't even put that much tension on them. These shoes would be a reasonable buy if the manufacturer just used a reliable metal buckle....I picked up a set of two for each shoe at my local camping store and they seem to work fine.....go figure. Bottom line....unless you want to change out the buckle....pick a different solution. IV

This product is ideal for someone with a small lawn who can wear the shoes and aerate the lawn while cuuting grass with a push lawn mower.

My only concern with this product is looking like a huge buffoon in my front yard. Anyone had that problem yet?

I thought this was a nice idea to be able to aerate the lawn while mowing. I attached them to my feet and the first step, they slipped off my feet. I messed with the straps for a couple of minutes but everything I tried resulted in the same result, them just falling off. I then tried to pull one of the straps tight and broke the plastic buckle. My last attempt was to just tie them around my shoes and I managed about 5 steps and thought, "hey, this is pretty cool". Just at that moment, one slipped off, I tripped over it and almost impaled myself on the 12 spikes. I wish I could have seen myself because it was probably a pretty comical scene. In all seriousness, I would avoid these shoes until they come up with a better way of keeping them on your feet. The few steps I did take, they seemed to be doing a nice job.

I have a small yard in Phoenix and one of those rental motorized aerators doesn't make sense. So, I ordered this product after reading the reviews figuring it wasn't too expensive and I wouldn't be terribly disappointed if it didn't work. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. But, as one of the other reviewers mentions, it works best with the right lawn conditions (i.e. not too moist and not too dry). If the ground is too hard, it's hard to penetrate the surface and get a good plug. If the ground is too wet, the plugs seem to get stuck in the aerating tubes. I've found that the third day after a watering is the best for my lawn. But each person may have to find the right time depending on the soil conditions and how much they are watering. After I found the right conditions, I finished my lawn in about two hours over a couple of days. When you have the right conditions, you can get a rhythm going - on each presentation, the tubes penetrate the lawn and the plugs from the previous penetration(s) pop easily out of the top of the tubes.

If you are a do it yourself type person. This is for you. It works well for a small yard. The holes tend to get clogged up from time to time. Roots get impacted and you have to stop and clean it out. Can get a little frustrating.

Rather than spend the same amount of money to have someone aerate my lawn, this will pay for itself. It gives you a nice little workout and I'm able to aerate my medium/smallish front lawn in about an hour. It's easy to use and a little fun too.

I bought this to aerate by 600sq/ft lawn. It works great. It took me about 30 minutes to cover the whole lawn. Sometimes the plug does not come out. When that happened I just kept going and in a few more steps they started popping right out again. Its a great tool for maintaining my small lawn. Its very sturdy and I had no bending issues even when I think I hit an underlying rock that prevented it from reaching full depth. Of course when I hit rock, I didn't press the issue by trying to stamp it in. Just pull it out and move on to the next spot. Great alternative to hiring someone.

Nice idea. Way too hard to use. Way too much work to do even my small 1/4 acre yard.

We have recently downgraded to a ghetto apartment and I have assumed the role of dishwasher. I couldn't do it without this little doohickey. Seriously. It installed easily and hasn't given me any trouble in its ~8 months of heavy duty usage. It swivels to cover all corners of the sink, the two different settings are great for quick changes from dish washing to filling a jug of water, and it really cuts down on our water usage, which is important to me for being environmentally friendly. Whenever we move out, this baby is coming with me.

Not exactly a "plow", but breaks up ground well and is very solidly made. Worth the price if you have ground/driveways to smooth out and clear.

The last pump I had was an Attwood 500 gph pump, it worked great for a lot of years then finally gave up the goast. I decided to go to an 800 gph pump, it connected up just like the 500, but it really pumps more water while it is running so it should call for less running time. I like the way this pump comes apart to clean trash from the impella. My old pump did not have that and it was real hard to keep cleaned out in trashey water. Love it.

My livewell and bait tank aerator died and I needed a replacement. The Attwood 500 fit the bill for my 10 year old boat, I installed the new unit and back to the lake. New unit replaced original unit perfectly, no additional cutting or hose additions. Unit works great, great replacement part. Everyone is happy again.

Got to use the new aerator pump the other day and it worked great. kept the fish alive in the live well.

This is a compact, efficient, and quiet aerator that seems to get the job done. It only takes one battery and there is room to store an extra one right inside of the unit. The aerator stone works great. I wish the hose was a little longer, but it's more than enough for use on a 5-gallon bucket. Overall, a good product.
